Red White & Clix 2026

Two days of HeroClix at the National Guard Armory in Lafayette, Indiana, raising money for the Mary T. Klinker Veteran Resource Center. Bring a team, play in a tournament, or sit down and learn the game.

Schedule

• Saturday, November 7: 300 Modern registration opens at 8:30 AM. Dice roll at 9:00 AM. The hall runs until 10:00 PM.
• Sunday, November 8: Team Sealed registration opens at 8:30 AM. Dice roll at 9:00 AM. The hall runs until 10:00 PM.
• All weekend: Battle Royales start every two hours from 9:00 AM Saturday. Learn to Play sessions run on request.

Events and entry fees

• 300 Modern ($40 per player): 300-point Modern Age constructed HeroClix. Swiss rounds based on attendance, with the top 32 players advancing to a playoff bracket. No player cap.
• Team Sealed ($240 per three-player team, $80 per player): Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix team sealed. Limited to 20 teams, with the top 8 teams advancing to a playoff bracket.
• Battle Royales ($25 per player): four-player Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix games with one booster per player. Figures are snake drafted after each game, and every game counts toward the weekend standings.
• Learn to Play ($10 per person): a personal coaching session with Major Grover Smith, plus a HeroClix starter kit with everything you need to play.

Every tournament player receives a participation prize, and prizes stack as you climb the standings. Champions in 300 Modern, Team Sealed and the Battle Royale standings each take home an RWC trophy. The exclusive RWC map awarded as a prize is not a WizKids tournament-legal map.

The Major Grover "G-Man" Smith Fellowship

One player each weekend is named the Red White and Clix Major Grover "G-Man" Smith Fellowship winner. The award is named for Major Smith, an active board member who has backed this event since day one.

It does not go to the strongest player. It goes to the person who best represents what Red White and Clix is for: friendship, honor, generosity and fair play. Several fellowship awards are given over the weekend, but only one carries Major Smith's name.

Who runs the floor

• Matt Leiner, Head Judge. Every judge call for the weekend is his, and it is final. He also manages scoring and pairings.
• Elijah, Battle Royales. He runs the Battle Royales both days, acts as the immediate judge for those games, and hands out the prizing.

Registration and payment

Every fee is paid at the door. Pre-registering on HCUnits still helps a great deal, because it gives us a head count for food and tables, but no payment is taken online.

• Pre-register for 300 Modern or Team Sealed.
• Battle Royale games are individually time stamped and listed under the Red White & Clix 2026 circuit.
• Learn to Play needs no pre-registration at all.

Teams are verified at the door. New to HeroClix? Just come along and tell us it is your first time. Entry fees are paid at the event by cash, credit card, PayPal or Venmo. We cannot accept checks.

Raffle and auction

Every donated item is in the raffle, and some are bundled together as packages. Raffle tickets are sold at the event: $5 each, or five for $20. Draws happen during dinner on Saturday and again at the end of the day on Sunday, and each item is labelled with which draw it belongs to.

The auction is live, not silent. Auction items are still being arranged.

Food

Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch are served on site, donated by the community. Meals are $10 per person, per meal. Snacks and drinks are free all weekend.

Hotels

Purdue's homecoming game is the same weekend, so rooms go fast. We have arranged discounted rates at three hotels. They are limited and first come, first served. When you call, say you are attending Red White & Clix and ask for the RWC rate.

Where the money goes

This year's beneficiary is the Mary T. Klinker Veteran Resource Center, the same people who supported our founder at his darkest hour a decade ago.
